Description
Information
Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iaido is the sword style practiced in this production. Oe Masamichi Sensei brought together the Hasegawa Eishin Ryu and the Omori Ryu and combined this with Tanimura-ha to form the 43 forms that we now know as Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu. Oe Sensei was of strong character and his methods were heavily influenced by real combat based on his experiences in one of the last sword wars based in Japan called “Hamaguri Gomon no Ikusa” (The Clam Gate War) fought well into the late Tokugawa Era between 1865 and 1867 at the Imperial Palace in Kyoto.
This production focuses on the Omori Ryu forms and is aimed at anyone who has an interest in learning the basics of this school. Whether you are new to the art or are already familiar with the forms but want to deepen your knowledge, this production will provide a visual record and reminder of the many movements and subtleties that must first be learned. He will also help you answer the questions and show you the “correct” method of performing the techniques.
