This fourth part of the Pangai Noon Uechi karate series begins with advanced Sanseru kata and continues with karate weapons training. Although primarily an unarmed art, karate also encompasses the use as weapons of implements that once formed a part of everyday life for Okinawans. Wielded by a qualified professional, they add a new dimension to karate techniques. Staff can be used to strike, push, and ward off an armed assailant; The blade of the oar delivers a powerful, focused blow, and can also be used to throw sand in an enemy’s face to distract or blind them; Sai metal is employed offensively by striking and pushing, and defensively by blocking and trapping.
