The Speed Insiders Academy presents a course tailored for Graduate Assistants and Interns in the fields of exercise science, strength and conditioning, physical therapy, physical education, kinesiology, and personal training.
The objective of the SI Academy Course is to provide in-depth knowledge to GAs and Interns regarding multi-directional speed training, energy system training for speed, coaching skills, large team management, speed analysis, foundational jumping and plyometric training, max velocity sprint training, and programming.
This course benefits not only GAs and Interns but also directors of strength and conditioning programs, exercise science and kinesiology educators, physical education supervisors, physical therapy mentors, and sports performance directors.
How This Course Operates: The SI Academy spans a 6-month curriculum. The day of enrollment marks the commencement of the first module. Weekly, a new topic is delivered. Each week, participants receive a video outlining the module information, along with a training sheet highlighting essential points and recording vital information.
Upon course completion in 6 months, participants will have a solid foundation in multi-directional speed training, encompassing team coaching and management skills.
Intended Audience:
- College students majoring in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Biomechanics, and Physical Education
- Graduate Assistants, Interns, and Students in Physical Therapy
- Graduate Assistants and Interns in College and Professional Programs
- Interns at Sports Performance Facilities
- High School Strength and Conditioning Interns
- Individuals aiming to enhance their ability to assess, analyze, teach, and implement multi-directional speed.
Course Overview: Module 1: Deceleration Training Learn how to eccentrically load for athletic performance using deceleration training. Understand the three phases of deceleration and learn when and how to apply them.
Module 2: Repositioning Concept Gain insights into repositioning, altering your perspective on athletic multi-directional speed. Explore movements like Plyo Step, Hip Turn, Directional Step, and Glide Step.
Module 3: Reacceleration Explore the emphasis on Change of Direction, focusing on quickness rather than complete stops. Understand that deceleration is only part of the equation; re-acceleration is the key.
Module 4: Programming for Acceleration, Deceleration, and Re-acceleration Focus on specific details for rapid improvements in speed. Discover techniques that have helped athletes improve multi-directional speed quickly.
And so on, the course comprises 24 modules, each delving into specific aspects of speed training, coaching techniques, and program management. Participants gain a comprehensive understanding of multi-directional speed, empowering them in their coaching and training endeavors.
